Improve DB architecture

Description

Improves the DB component architecture by removing all dependencies on the models component. Now, the controller uses the model to know what fields/values are to be included in the db query, and the simple fields/values are passed to the db. The db also now uses a (mostly) db type agnostic query builder, rather than sending parameters to a complex, tightly coupled SQL syntax translator.
